Beijing Olympic Torch Relay in London

A pro-Tibet protesters tried to snatch the torch from Ms. Konnie Huq, who is sorrounded by 10 mighty and handsome fluorescent-jacketed Chinese police officers during the torch relay in London.

Troubled Relay

Many planned torchbearers, such as BBC's deputy director general Mark Byford, Radio Five Presenter Gabby Logan have found some reasons to dropped out from the relay.

Some of the UK celebrities spoken out about China's human rights issue, especially regarding China's policy on Tibet.

The major concern is since the Olympic value is to bring people together around the world, in order to promote peace and harmony, it's very controversial and ironic that the host nation's doings in the last few weeks.

Should sports be involved into politics?

Some critics are questioning should sports be involved into politics? Does Olympic game is a platform for people to raise related political issues towards host nation, such as China?

From the dropped torch carriers point of view, though the boycott does bring pressures to host country, it's also a chance to raise debate, and then changes can follow.

However, Sharron Davies, a Olympic swimmer who had confronted the dilemma before during the 1980's Moscow Olympic.

There won't be any difference the boycott could made, the only people will get hurt is the athlete, who have to wait for 4 years long to compete in Olympic.
