Chiense & English Dictionary For Lovers

BBC Radio 4, Chinese-English Love Story, Friday, 25/01/08

An interesting programme from BBC Radio 4, called Chinese-English Love Story.

It's such a sad story told by an English outsider, her pronounciation isn't good enough, which creates an atmosphere that let audience think she, as a foreigner talking about her own story.

The programme aimed to teach foreigners english through describing the most complicated emotion of human beings --lOVE.

From the story, she said she has to go back to her country, in this case China, because her country warn her to go back, otherwise she will be expelled from her organization/company/unit.

Here, what I want to say is, indeed it's a kind of psychological thinking, probablly the story writer is aware of what the Chinese may think (who are staying in England), otherwise, the writer whould not convey her feeling in such a proper way.

The last sentence is so profound:

"Coming to England is not easy, leaving England is even much harder...a place which I growed up as a woman...my great passion, and my quiet sadness."
